Welcome to the South West Model Engineering, Model Making and Hobbies Exhibition – the UK’s most interactive model making show. After a fantastic event this year we can now confirm the dates for next year’s show. The show will be held again at the Royal Bath and West Showground on 18th and 19th April 2009. Many thanks to all the clubs who made such a great effort on their stands, we look forward to welcoming you all back next year.

Competition Winners:
Best Static Display – Won by: The Steam Boat Association of Great Britain for their fantastic indoor and outdoor display
Best Moving Display – Won by: The Buckinghamshire Garden Railway Society
Best Trade Stand – Won by: Prince August
Best Model as voted by visitor – Won by: Steve Carr for his superb model aircraft flying display

We have many fantastic exhibition features, with over 40 prospective modelling enthusiast clubs displaying the very best of modern and antique models. There will be plenty of opportunity to buy all your modelling essentials from 50 plus traders guaranteed to provide you with any material you need. In addition to this we have the widest range of models actively being shown, flown, ridden and driven in and outside of the fabulous Shepton Mallet showground:

  • Ride the on-site miniature train
  • Marvel at fleets of radio controlled model tanks and planes
  • Model flying displays in the skies
  • Model boat displays on the water
  • Model hovercrafts flying over land and lake
  • Traction engines will be steaming around
  • Centre stage is the first public showing of a magnificent
    Victorian steam boat
  • A wealth of demonstrations and workshops
  • Relax at the small funfair and amusements and bouncy castles
  • Get involved and buy your own models
