Bristish Model Flying Association

The BMFA is the National Governing Body for the sport of model flying. Its aims are to promote, protect, organise and encourage model flying within the UK. Typically there are around 780 affiliated clubs and a combined membership of over 36,000 members, all of whom have entered a partnership to ensure that model fliers have a voice and their rights are recognised by the authorities.  Our flying display is run by a BMFA appointed flying director and has the support of the BMFA behind it to ensure the highest standards of safety are adhered to at all times, as well as high quality pilots and models taking part.

IPMS

The International Plastic Modellers' Society was founded in Great Britain in 1963, by modellers, for the benefit of modellers. It was originally founded as the British Plastic Modellers' Society, but soon expanded into a truly International body with many branches across the world. Society members build anything from basic kits to complicated scratchbuilt models using plastic as the primary medium.  There are presently over 60 local IPMS Branches scattered about Great Britain.

BRCA

The British Radio Car Association (BRCA) are pleased to be associated with the South West Model Engineering, Model Making & Hobbies Exhibition yet again.  The Association is the organising body for all radio controlled car, bike and truck racing in this country with over two hundred affiliated Clubs and several thousand members all racing in one of our thirteen different Sections, on road, offroad or on ovals in a variety of different scales from 1/18th up to 1/5th, and powered by small electric motors up to 23cc two stroke engines.  Meetings range from weekly Club meetings, through Regional and National meetings right the way to European and World Championships with our drivers competing with the best in the world.  For more information on the world of model car, bike and truck racing and to find out if there is a Club near you visit the BRCA web site http://www.brca.org/ or come and speak to one of our members either on the BRCA Stand or one of the Club Stands.
